About Dependable Service Plumbing & Air
20 years ago, Dave and Michelle Sodano moved to South Carolina with the dream of opening their own plumbing company. For years, Dave had been a master plumber in Boston, and now they were able to officially open DS PLUMBING.
Over the years, our community learned that the DS team stood for outstanding service, respect, honesty, and integrity. And because of that, the team began to grow. As it did, Dave became friends with Gerry Voorhees who, as a consultant, helped develop the business and leadership strategy.
In 2012, having a solid relationship founded in faith and common beliefs, Dave extended the offer to Gerry to become official business partners. And the rest, as they say, is history!
Following the partnership, Dave and Gerry refreshed the business brand including their name (from DS to Dependable Service.) The goal was to make a promise to our community and DEPENDABLE SERVICE did just that. At this time, they added their HVAC division and introduced our friendly mascot “John”.
In 2022, Dave was led to answer the call to further his work in Ministry and transition from ownership of the company into our Training Manager. In this role, he is able to focus on his ministry and pour his years of knowledge into their apprenticeship program and the young men and women aspiring to become better people and skilled technicians.
Gerry is now the principal Shepard of the business and focuses on growing and developing their team to better serve each other, our clients, and community each day.
